Product description
"Kalimba" is a composition for four guitars by Swiss composer Jürg Kindle. It was inspired by African and Afro-Cuban rhythms and especially the African "thumb" piano called kalimba. To achieve a specific sound, it is recommended to insert a handkerchief under the strings of the guitar to create a unique sound palette reminiscent of this traditional instrument.
The "kalimba" offers guitar quartets the opportunity to explore unusual sound effects and rhythmic structures that go beyond the normal boundaries of guitar music. The melodic inventiveness of the piece is full of interesting moments that will engage both performers and listeners.
The book includes the score plus separately inserted parts for guitars.
