Mélanie Bonis (1858–1937) was a French composer who created music during the late Romantic and early Modern periods. Despite the obstacles she faced as a woman in the musical sphere, she wrote more than 300 works, including piano solos, chamber music, organ pieces, choral music, and orchestral works.
