Musica dominicalis is Peter Eben's best known composition for organ. This edition is based on a revision made by Prof. Jan Hora in collaboration with Petr Eben. In the more than half a century of this cycle's existence (the composition was written in 1958), the organ has undergone certain changes, and so it was necessary to correct the notation of this now classic composition to match the current possibilities of the instrument. The edition includes a preface and notes on Jan Hora's interpretation in three languages (Czech/German/English).
Petr Eben (1929-2007) was a Czech composer of sacred, modern and contemporary classical music. His extensive compositional works cover almost all genres and has penetrated the repertoire of many performers, chamber ensembles and orchestras. He has also worked as a piano accompanist and organist.
