Product description

Petite Suite is a suite of seven pieces for solo piano, each with its own specific character.  In the suite, Alexander Borodin combines elements of Russian folk music with classical forms to create a work full of emotion and colour.  The suite is popular among pianists for its technical accessibility and expressive depth, and is considered one of his most famous piano pieces.

Alexander Porfiryevich Borodin (1833-1887) was an important Russian composer and chemist who made history not only with his music but also with his scientific discoveries. He was a member of the famous group "The Five", which sought to create an authentic Russian musical style. Among his best-known works are the opera Prince Igor, the symphonic poem In the Steppes of Central Asia, and two string quartets, which stand out for their lyricism and rich harmonies. Borodin was not only a musician, but also an accomplished chemist. He contributed to the discovery of the aldol reaction and devoted himself to research in organic chemistry. Although he devoted only his free time to music, his compositions have become an important part of the world's musical repertoire.
