Opis produktu

This collection matches exactly the 11 songs from the original 1955 release by jazz pianist Erroll Garner of Concert by the Sea.The album is one of the best-selling jazz albums of all time, and yet the recording of this concert was not originally planned at all. The album was released because Erroll Garner's wife and manager noticed a tape recorder running backstage during the concert. The recording was made by Will Thornbury, a recording engineer for the Armed Forces Radio Network and a jazz fan, solely for his and his colleagues' enjoyment. Then all he had to do was show the recording to the director of the jazz section of Columbia Records and the album was born.
This publication brings you the sheet music transcription of the songs as played by Erroll Garnet at that concert.

Erroll Louis Garner (1921–1977) was American jazz pianist and composer who was one of the most famous and successful jazz musicians in the world during his lifetime. Erroll Garner was self-taught, he started playing the piano at the age of three and had his first professional performance at the age of seven. Over the course of his career, he developed an original and unmistakable piano style. He wrote almost 200 songs, his most famous song is "Misty", which is ranked 15th in the list of the best songs of the 20th century.
