Product description
In 2001 the musical world commemorated the 100th anniversary of Giuseppe Verdi's death. Verdi has long been synonymous with Italian opera in the popular conscience, not just since the concerts of the 'Three Tenors.' Every year thousands of people make the pilgrimage to the arena in Verona to enjoy the music, the brilliant voices and the lavish productions. This selection of Verdi's melodies is easy to play and doesn't miss out any of the old favourites: the Triumphal March from Aida, the Prisoner's Chorus from Nabucco, 'La donna e mobile' (Rigoletto), the Stretta from Il Trovatore, the Drinking Song from La Traviata and a whole lot more.
Giuseppe Fortunino Francesco Verdi (1813-1901) was an Italian composer. He is one of the greatest Italian opera composers of the 19th century. Verdi composed many beautiful and well-known operas (e.g. Rigoletto, Nabucco, La Traviata, Aida, etc.), which belong to the golden fund of world opera music.
