We have documented 43 organ fugues by Jan Křtitel Vaňhal, which were published in Vienna between 1785 and 1814.  ARTTHON Publishing has prepared a set of six fugues in this new critical edition according to the 1810 edition, which are published again after 210 years.

Jan Křtitel Vaňhal (1739 -1813) was a Czech composer and versatile musician who mastered playing several instruments, playing string and wind instruments, organ, piano and harpsichord. During his lifetime, Jan Křtitel Vaňhal was one of the most popular and admired authors. In later life he taught music and became a sought-after piano teacher. His piano compositions are still popular and used pedagogical material. During his lifetime, Vaňhal composed a large number of spiritual and secular compositions, orchestral and chamber compositions, compositions for keyboard instruments, serenades and songs.
