Product description

Cantabile is a collection of 17 pieces by well-known Polish composers arranged for solo guitar by Tatiana Stachak. It is a remarkable collection that brings the melodic poetry of 19th- and 20th-century vocal music to the world of classical guitar. Tatiana Stachak, an experienced composer, arranger, and teacher, focuses in this collection on translating song expression into the language of the guitar. Her arrangements preserve the melodic singability and support the development of cantilena technique, dynamics, and articulation. The compositions have been selected to be accessible to a wider range of performers, from early intermediate to intermediate players. The book is an excellent teaching resource, and the selected compositions are suitable for recitals, concerts, and competitions.

Tatiana Stachak (*1973) is a Polish guitarist, composer, and guitar teacher. She graduated from the Academy of Music in Wrocław and, while still a student, began teaching the youngest guitarists, which became a central theme of her work. She is the author of many compositions for beginner and advanced guitar students. Since 2021, she has been a lecturer in teaching methodology at the Academy of Music in Krakow and continues to actively lead workshops and lectures for teachers and young players throughout Europe. She is one of the most influential figures in contemporary Polish guitar pedagogy.
