Product description
Two pieces for recorder, bass instrument (bassoon, trombone, violoncello or double bass) and basso continuo (piano or harpsichord). The composer is Giovanni Battista Riccio.
Giovanni Battista Riccio (Giambattista Riccio) (late 16th century - 1621) was an Italian musician and composer of the early Baroque period, active in Venice. He is best known for his development of instrumental forms, particularly using the recorder. No details are available about the early part of his life, but he is thought to have been born in the late sixteenth century. Records show that he was appointed organist at the Scuola di San Giovanni Evangelista in Venice in 1609. He was probably also a violinist.
