Patrik Kotlár (*1995) is a Czech accordion teacher and composer. From the age of eight he attended a primary art and music school, first learning to play the recorder and later the accordion. He studied accordion and composition at the Conservatory in Pilsen. From the second year he started composing small pieces. He learned the basics of composition in private lessons with the composer, accordionist and teacher Pavel Samiec (*1984). Currently he is an accordion teacher at the Primary School of Art and Music in Pilsen and Kdyně and in his free time he devotes himself to composing. Patrik Kotlár's compositions focus mainly on accordion literature for children, but he also writes concert and orchestral pieces, not only for accordion, but also for piano and other instruments and ensembles. His concert melodramas have been entered into the finals of the Zdeněk Fibich International Composition Competition several times and performed at Melodramfest concerts in Prague.
