Product description

John Field made his mark in music history primarily as a composer of the romantic piano nocturne. Mirosław Drożdżowski selected and arranged these piano pieces for classical guitar, proving that nocturnes can also sound great on the guitar. His selection was guided not only by their beauty, but also by their difficulty, so that they are easy to play on the guitar and not too difficult. On the enclosed CD these nocturnes are masterfully played by the Polish guitarist Marek Ulański .

John Field (1782-1837) was an Irish composer, pianist and teacher. He studied in London with Muzio Clementi. He is regarded as a pioneer of the nocturne genre and influenced many other composers, including Frédéric Chopin, Johannes Brahms, Robert Schumann and Franz Liszt, who began writing their own nocturnes.

Mirosław Drożdżowski (*1964 ) is a Polish guitarist, teacher, composer, arranger.
