Product description

The Concerto for Bass Tuba and Orchestra was composed in 1953-4 to mark the 50th anniversary of the formation of the London Symphony Orchestra and was written for the orchestra's principal tuba player, Philip Catelinet. It was the first major concerto to be written for the instrument, and remains today the outstanding work of its kind.
Now we bring you this concert in an arrangement for tuba with piano accompaniment.

Ralph Vaughan Williams (1872-1958) was an English music composer. He wrote operas, ballets, chamber music, secular and church songs and orchestral compositions, including nine symphonies. His work is strongly influenced by Tudor music and English folk song and his output marked a decisive break in British music from its German-dominated style of the 19th century.
