Product description

This publication brings you four well-known Chopin ballads - Premiere Ballade in G minor Op. 23, Deuxieme Ballade in F Major Op. 38, Troisieme Ballade in Ab Major Op. 47 and Quatrieme Ballade in F minor Op. 52. All compositions were edited, revised and supplemented with fingering by Rafael Josefy. The publication is also accompanied by a historical and analytical commentary written by James Huneker. The compositions are intended for more advanced pianists.

Fryderyk Chopin (1810-1849) was a Polish composer and piano virtuoso of French-Polish origin. He is considered one of the greatest masters of Romantic music. He wrote his works primarily for solo piano and all his other compositions also contain a piano part. His major piano works include mazurkas, waltzes, nocturnes, polonaises, instrumental ballads, etudes, preludes and sonatas. He also wrote two piano concertos, several chamber works and several songs on Polish texts. Some of his compositions were published posthumously.
