Product description
Op. 105 is a delightful collection of 'melodious and brilliant' character studies reminiscent of Mendelssohn's Songs without Words. Although written to develop the flexibility of the hands, they also display beautiful lyric qualities. The pieces may be used as a sequel to Burgmüller's 18 Characteristic Studies, Op. 109.
Johann Friedrich Burgmüller (1806-1874) was a German pianist, conductor and composer of the Romantic period. His light and intimate musical style was very popular in his time. Today he is best known for his piano etudes, among the best known are Op. 100, Op. 105 and Op. 109.
