Opis produktu
The composition Bugatti step was written by Jaroslav Ježek in 1931 as a prelude to the theatre play Don Juan & Comp. and thanks to the dance-like character and virtuosity of this work, it is still one of the most popular and most performed pieces by Ježek, whether in piano or orchestral form. Jaroslav Ježek was inspired by the Bugatti car that won a race at the Masaryk Circuit in Brno in 1930. The piece is characterised by its fast tempo, and a rhythmic pulse can be heard almost throughout the whole piece, which can be reminiscent of a four-stroke engine.
Now we bring you Bugatti Step in a great arrangement for a little more experienced string quartet. The arrangement was written by violinist Vladimír Kovář in 1986 for the Travnicek String Quartet, in which he was at that time the first violinist.
Jaroslav Ježek (1906-1942) był czeskim kompozytorem, pianistą, improwizatorem i dyrygentem, autorem muzyki tanecznej, teatralnej, filmowej i klasycznej. Uważany jest za pioniera muzyki jazzowej w Czechosłowacji. Znany jest jako „trzeci” w autorskim duecie Voskovec i Werich oraz autor większości znanych i wciąż popularnych piosenek Teatru Wyzwolonego.
Vladimír Kovář (*1950) is a Czech violinist and violin maker. He studied violin at the conservatory in Kroměříž and at the JAMU in Brno. In 1972, while studying at the JAMU, he founded the Trávníček Quartet, which soon achieved a number of important successes. He played in it as a first violinist until 1988. After that, he played as a violist of the Kyncl Quartet and as a first violinist of the Spielberg Quartet. After finishing his concert activity, he devoted himself professionally to his long-standing hobby - violin making.
