Opis produktu

The cycle "Verba sancta" for soprano and piano (harpsichord, organ) was composed by Hurník in 2003 and premiered at the Janáček May Festival in 2006 in a version for soprano and chamber orchestra. It is the last song cycle in his work. It consists of five songs on biblical texts, to which the composer commented: " I chose biblical texts and isolated individual words or phrases from them. All of them have a deep spiritual meaning, but they are generally known. This way the listener will not be preoccupied with what is being sung about and surrender to the melody.

Ilja Hurník (1922 - 2013) was a Czech composer, pianist, music teacher, playwright and writer.
