Zdeněk Trnka (1925 – 2019) was a high school teacher of the Czech language and music education, but he devoted his entire life to musical activities – he was a performer, an organizer of musical life and mainly a composer. Zdeněk Trnka's compositional work was being created for more than six decades and is very extensive and formally as well as stylistically diverse. He began with small compositions for solo instruments, vocal and choral works, and gradually began composing chamber music for strings, wind instruments and small orchestras. He has also written several operas, musicals, Christmas carol mass and is the author of many songs for female, male and mixed choirs.
