George Jirmal (1925) – Czech guitar legend of the 20th century. He played guitar since the youth – mainly jazz music. He gained special classic music education on State Music Conservatory in Prague, where he had been teaching later. He had to end his succesful concerto activities because of the car accident in 1965 and from that time he devoted himself to teaching. Guitar school for beginners from Jiří Jirmal has became from it’s first edition 30 years ago the most used pedagogic material for guitar play teaching in our country. Thanks to combinations of technique exercises and songs from music classicism he goes through all the technique skills essentials needed to handle so called classic guitar play. Very well-made bilingual Czech-German guitar play school.
