Milan Dlouhý (*1938) is a Czech composer, conductor and music teacher. He studied conducting and composition at the Prague State Conservatory and composition at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. He worked as a teacher at the Music & Art School in Turnov and Most, and from 1973 he moved as a teacher of music theory to the Conservatory in Teplice, where he was later also its director. During his time in Teplice, he was also the guest conductor of the Music Theater in Teplice. He retired in 1990, but continued to teach at the Music & Art School in Žatec and also worked externally at the Department of Music Education at the Faculty of Education of the J. E. Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem. Milan Dlouhý's compositional activity is focused mainly on pieces for young people and chamber music.
