Product description

The pieces are written in the light and graceful style of the late rococo period, their gentle melodiouness and musical idiom approaching the musical language of Mozart. The cycle consist of six miniature pieces in two parts, alternating consistently a slow, moderate movement with a contrasting movement of quicker and rhytmically livelier charakter. The first slow sections are usually written in simple ternary form, the second, faster sections being mostly of rondo charakter; only the second movement of the last sonatina is composed in a 3/4 Menuet tempo.

Jan Ladislav Dusík (1760-1812) was a Czech composer and pianist. He is one of the most significant and interesting composers of Czech and European music at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. In his time he was one of the most famous pianists, composers and music teachers. He wrote more than three hundred compositions and the vast majority of them are for solo piano or concertante piano with accompaniment of melodic instruments.
