Alessandro Scarlatti (1660 - 1725) was an Italian Baroque composer, best known for his operas, sacred compositions and chamber cantatas. He is considered one of the most famous representatives of the Neapolitan school of opera. He is the father of two famous composers, Domenico Scarlatti and Pietro Fillippo Scarlatti.
