This collection deals exclusively with Rock-songs. Because the right hand plays the melody as well as part of the accompaniment, calling for a larger hand span, these pieces are slightly more difficult. But as they are mostly in a slow tempo, expressing the rather peaceful and reflective side of Rock Music, they are always pianistically playable. The composer Daniel Hellbach feels that the Rock-Ballads correspond to the approach which students have to pianism, as they combine expressive playing with rhythmic drive.
