Product description
Ševčík's only work intended for concert performance is Czech Dances and Tunes Op. 10, composed in 1872. Now the first of the dances, "Holka modrooká" (The Girl with Blue Eyes), which is one of the most popular Czech virtuoso pieces for violin, has been published separately. A popular folk song of the same name became the theme or motive for writing this concert piece. The book include a piano accompaniment plus a pull-out part for solo violin.
Otakar Ševčík (1852-1934) was Czech violinist and pedagogue. He is the creator of his own teaching method with which he has achieved unique results and acclaim, and in the field of his activity he can be considered one of the greatest figures in the world. Ševčík became, in the true sense of the word, a "world" teacher of violinists of various nationalities, who conquered and continue to conquer the world with their art.
