Product description
Délibes Léo (1836-1891) belonged to a circle of French romantics and served as organist, choir director and professor of composition at the Paris Conservatoire on cultural life. LE ROSSIGNOL, originally for voice and piano, originated from an ancient poem. It is distinguished by its ornate melodic echo interaction and is a powerful soprano coloratura aria. The Dutch flutist Ary van Leeuwen (1875-1953) worked in Berlin and Vienna, in 1924 in Cincinnati. He arranged many pieces for the flute. In 1933, he taught for LE ROSSIGNOL an obbligato flute. His arrangement enjoys great popularity today.
