An old acquaintance of the children helps a lot with this new way of early musical education: The main character of the popular "Sendung mit der Maus" (the show with the mouse). Lovingly illustrated by Imke Kretzmann, Maus and her friend and SchülerBär (school bear) lead imaginatively and vividly through the lessons. Volume 1 is intended as a musical early education on the piano for children from about 5 years old. It teaches the basics of music in a child-friendly way and encourages playful and experimental access to the instrument and a first holistic playing experience. The author: Bettina Schwedhelm (*1955), a certified pianist and music pedagogue, completed her training at the Folkwang University in Essen, the Hamburg University of Music and at the Conservatoire de Lausanne/Switzerland. She can look back on many years of successful private and classroom-based teaching practice with children, adolescents and adults. Her personal focus: Elementary music education and psychomotricity of instrumental playing.
