"The Sun Darkened for Me" is a cycle of four songs for vocal (soprano) and piano by Jiri Pazour. The author was inspired by the beauty of Czech and Moravian folk poetry. The composition won the 1st prize in the composition competition Tribune of Chamber Music Pilsen 2011.
Jiří Pazour (* 1971) is a Czech pianist, improviser, composer and pedagogue who teaches piano improvisation at the Prague Conservatory. As a composer Jiří Pazour writes solo, chamber and orchestral works. He has created a number of compositions of a lighter character, which are intended primarily for the joy of spontaneous music making for both listeners and performers. He has also written a number of children's songs on texts by Czech poets and lyricists.
