André Waignein (1942-2015) was a Belgian composer, conductor, trumpeter and musicologist. He wrote more than 600 compositions. He specialized mainly in compositions for musical ensembles such as symphony orchestras, wind orchestras, chamber ensembles or choirs, but he also wrote solo instrumental pieces. His music is known for its melodic beauty, harmonic sophistication, rhythmic vitality and optimistic character.
