Miroslav Hošek (1931-2011) was a Czech oboist and pedagogue. He studied the oboe and accordion at the Higher School of Music in Kroměříž (1954), after which he joined the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra in Olomouc and then the Moravian Theatre Opera Orchestra in Olomouc. Since the 1970s he has been intensively engaged in teaching activities and is the author of the draft curriculum for the oboe at the ZUŠ, which was adopted in 1980 by the Ministry of Education. His work in the field of pedagogy and methodology of the oboe has brought him worldwide recognition.
