Product description

Frederic Chopin wrote his Trois nouvelles études ("Three New Etudes") for piano in 1839 as a contribution to the "Méthode des méthodes" school of piano playing by Ignaz Moscheles and François-Joseph Fétis. These three Etudes are less technical than his Etudes Op. 10 and 25 but retain Chopin's original formula for harmonic and structural balance. Edition Peters offers you these etudes in a new critical edition (urtext) with commentary in English, French and German.

Fryderyk Chopin (1810-1849) was a Polish composer and piano virtuoso of French-Polish origin. He is considered one of the greatest masters of Romantic music. He wrote his works primarily for solo piano and all his other compositions also contain a piano part. His major piano works include mazurkas, waltzes, nocturnes, polonaises, instrumental ballads, etudes, preludes and sonatas. He also wrote two piano concertos, several chamber works and several songs on Polish texts. Some of his compositions were published posthumously.
