Product description

This new volume in Schirmer's Library of Musical Classics presents 26 preludes, 21 nocturnes and 19 waltzes – a large amount of music at a value price. There are new urtext editions of seven pieces included, not edited by Joseffy in his original Schirmer editions: Prelude in A-flat Major (1834), Nocturne in C-sharp minor (1830), Nocturne in C minor (1837), and Waltzes in A-flat Major (1830), E-flat Major (1830), E-flat Major (1840), and A minor (1843).

Fryderyk Chopin (1810-1849) was a Polish composer and piano virtuoso of French-Polish origin. He is considered one of the greatest masters of Romantic music. He wrote his works primarily for solo piano and all his other compositions also contain a piano part. His major piano works include mazurkas, waltzes, nocturnes, polonaises, instrumental ballads, etudes, preludes and sonatas. He also wrote two piano concertos, several chamber works and several songs on Polish texts. Some of his compositions were published posthumously.
