Product description

Ferdinand Beyer was a German composer and pianist. Well known in his day for his light music and piano arrangements of popular orchestral works, he is now mainly known for his book Vorschule im Klavierspiel op.101 (1850). The Vorschule im Klavierspiel has been a major influence in piano pedagogy since its publication, being the foundation of elementary piano education in many countries, as is attested by the many anthologies containing parts of the Vorschule as well as the curriculum followed in many countries.
Vorschule im Klavierspiel is easy introduction to the art of playing on piano and it is intended for children. The progression has therefore been made as gradual as possible within the limits of the work. This elementary instruction book holds enough material for practice during first and second year of a young pianist. Book also includes exercises that can be played by teacher or a musical parent together with pupil.
