Nirvana

Nirvana was an American rock band formed in 1987. They are one of the most influential musical groups of the 1990s. The founding members were Kurt Cobain (guitar, vocals) and Krist Novoselic (bass guitar). In 1989, Nirvana recorded their first studio album titled Bleach, but the breakthrough came when their new single "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was released in 1991. This song reached the top of the charts and opened Nirvana's way to fame. Her third and last studio album was released in 1993 and was titled In Utero. Nirvana broke up after the death of frontman Kurt Cobain in April 1994. Since its inception, it has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide. The style of music that Nirvana played came to be called grunge.
