Product description
Return of the King is a program suite composed by Petr Smetáček for a pupil trumpet trio with piano accompaniment. The suite has five movements, and you can play them all together as a single composition or choose just one or more movements to perform as separate pieces. The publication includes the full score plus separate parts for the trumpet trio and piano accompaniment.
The book includes a link to download demo recordings in MP3 format, as well as QR codes for playing the recordings on a mobile phone. The recordings were made using the music notation software in which the pieces were composed. The link also includes printable PDF files with the individual trumpet parts.
Petr Smetáček (*1984) is a Czech musician, composer, accompanist and piano teacher. From an early age he was fond of the piano and music, especially classical, jazz, folk and later Latin-American salsa. Over the years he started playing other instruments as well, such as Czech bagpipes and Afro-Cuban percussion, while he also started composing and leading bands, but the piano was still his main point of interest. He studied composition at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory in Prague with Karel Růžička. During his studies he had already been playing with various ensembles in the Czech Republic and often even abroad. For many of them he composed music, too. Currently, he mainly performs with his own bands Latin CZazz (formerly Los Rumberos), based on a multi-instrumental duo with guitarist and singer Jan Burian. He also performs with, for example, Cuban singer Jorge Concepción, Peruvian percussionist Carlo Zegarra Abanto, Japanese soprano Yukiko Kinjo Smetáček, his wife, or Klarinetissimo. Since 2017 he has been working as a piano teacher and accompanist at the art and music school in Slaný. In his free time he composes both for students and ensembles of art and music schools, as well as for professional artists and groups.
