Product description

Take Five was written by Paul Desmond, a jazz alto saxophonist, and first recorded by the Dave Brubeck Quintet on the album Time Out. Melody Bober's arrangement for two pianos, eight hands is written for late intermediate pianists and laid out as two duets (Piano 1 and Piano 2) with the primo and secondo parts on facing pages. The arrangement begins in the original key of E-flat minor and modulates to E minor. A favorite of all jazz enthusiasts, it is an excellent choice for recitals, piano ensemble classes, and "monster" concerts. Score and four parts included.

Paul Desmond (1924 -1977) was an American jazz saxophonist and composer. He was a member of the Dave Brubeck Quartet and composed for this jazz quartet's their biggest hit "Take Five". He also collaborated with other world jazz giants such as Gerry Mulligan, Chet Baker, Jim Hall, Ed Bickert and others...

Melody Bober (*1955) is an American piano teacher and composer who enjoys writing motivational piano pieces that promote an understanding and love of music in their students. She herself is an active pianist and accompanist at church. She is in high demand as a lecturer at conventions and workshops for piano teachers throughout North America.
