Product description

Nicolò Paganini’s Minuetto e Trio in F sharp major for violin and viola - the autograph manuscript of which is preserved in the Biblioteca Casanatense in Rome - is, together with his Sonata a violino e viola (M.S. 108), one of the rare pieces the Genoese composer wrote for this particular ensemble. In addition to expanding Paganini’s treasured catalogue, its rediscovery could provide scholars with new insights into the famed virtuoso’s chamber music output.

Nicolo Paganini (1782-1840) was an Italian violinist, guitarist and composer. He composed and played very technically demanding violin compositions, which even today will be played by only a few violin masters. There are many stories about Paganini that cannot be verified, but thanks to them, Paganini is an almost mythical figure in the music world, and is often considered the greatest violin virtuoso of all time.
