Hans Florian Zimmer (* 1957) is a German composer who has lived in the USA for a long time. He has written music for more than 150 films. His best-known works include The Lion King, Gladiator, The Last Samurai, the Pirates of the Caribbean series, the Dark Knight, The Beginning, Interstellar, Sherlock Holmes series, Dunkirk and Dune. He has won numerous awards for his music, including four Grammy Awards, three Golden Globes and two Oscars. The Daily Telegraph has been listed as the 100 greatest living geniuses.
