The book contains five pieces for beginner on the timpani by Tomáš Chmura, Czech composer and drums and perccusions teacher. The compositions deliberately avoid more advanced techniques, such as the roll or cross sticking, but their difficulty can easily be adjusted at will by choice of tempo. Practice can be aided by recordings that are available of both the piano and timpani together and the piano part alone.
